Phase 1

Prototyping

The FII had worked hard to curate heaps of useful resources for people looking to learn about B.C.’s forests and forestry products on the naturally:wood and Wood Innovates websites. Over time, the sheer volume of information had created a disorganized user experience.

The FII wanted to combine the two websites into one powerful, accessible content hub. What they needed was an all-new information architecture and web design, to improve the overall flow of website traffic to and between these valuable resources. The new design would also incorporate their recent rebrand.

Phase 2

Style Concepts

The FII came ready with their new brand guidelines, which we used to create a set of style tiles. The new web design would include big, uncrowded photos with lots of space to balance the volume of copy with attractive visuals. Their new palette of fresh, natural-feeling colours gives the pages a much more vibrant look and feel.

Phase 3

Bringing it all together

The new naturally:wood website feels clean and professional, and is a stronger testament to both the resources and to the value of B.C.'s forestry industry. The content is much easier to browse, with clear menus and paths to specific content. The site has one of the most comprehensive and custom flex component builders we've ever implemented, which gives their internal teams significantly more control over managing and styling the content.
